Shotts and Dykehead Junior Piping and Drumming Championship

This year, with a slight twist, we are pleased to announce that the 2018 Shotts and Dykehead Junior Piping and Drumming Championship will actually take place on February 23rd 2019 at Calderhead High School in Shotts, North Lanarkshire. Due to clashes with other competitions and events, the 2018 event was moved from the originally planed November 2018 date to February 2019 to allow competitors maximum exposure to junior competitions.

This being the will be the fifth year of the event, and after an overwhelming entry last year of 188 competitors giving 246 performances, this event has quickly established itself as being a favourite on the junior calendar.

In February, we hope to welcome an even larger number of youngsters to North Lanarkshire to compete in a range of categories including chanter, piping, stick and pad, snare and tenor.

To help us achieve this, we need your support so bring along your kids and pupils and let them experience solo competition in front of some of the most influential and respected pipers and drummers around today.

The competition reflects Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band and North Lanarkshire Councils commitment to supporting youngsters in the pipe band community.
